Just kidding, I don’t post about politics. So here’s a crossover instead.

Honestly as far as crossovers go I think the 2021 Buick Envision looks handsome, and that interior is genuinely nice. If this were a Mazda people would be praising it more I guess

Compared to the old one, not hard to improve.

Knocks: weird DLO fail and Made in China (political reasons rather than QC, I have to believe GM inspects these things thoroughly).

I think it looks great. I can’t wait to be let down by wheezy 1.6T and an indecisive 9 speed tranny.

Actually I vaguely remember reading from someone here first reporting about the Envision, it’s actually better built than the domestic ones.

Buick has put out far too many duds to get brownie points nowadays. Nothing in particular against them but it’s  hard to excite when the brand vision coming down from GM is “ GMC for old people, minus the hot selling products”.

Nope . I’d think there’d be so much at risk sending these over, that even a cradle to grave 17th level manager at GM would know that if they mess this up, it will be a worse fiasco than the issues that give them a rep today.

The only thing wrong with it as far as I'm concerned is the name. I'm not even that bothered by the name, either.

Actually the 2.0T makes 260 HP or thereabouts and has a broad torque curve. The 9 speed auto is actually really good, not indecisive nor does it hunt or feel like mush . On the contrary, it always seems to know what gear to be in, and shifts are firm without being obnoxious.

Ha, good point. And a few others well into the 80s. Still, GM had so many devoted loyalists then that they could kind of get away with it. Today, one big boondoggle and it’s bailout time again, the loyalists went to Toyota.  Add “Made in China” to it, and yikes.

It does look handsome! They should have come out with this 5 years ago.

Buick has been making good looking cars for a while now. But everything else about them still make them unappealing.

Agreed, great looking CUV. And look the center console is angled towards the driver - it’s practically an E30!
